So imagine my surprise when I saw the new Fa Deo Spray pink or black TVC. Story line: two chaps are wondering if it's pink or black. Then a chick comes out to play tennis. Various shots suggest that the game (no, not tennis) is on. Until she comes close to the guys to retrieve a stuck (tennis) ball. At which they both breath in like Vicks recommends and say, 'pink.' And the girl repartees, 'black tomorrow.' Voice over: Fa Deo Spray...
This is the sort of demeaning, unimaginative, even obscene ads that point to a creativity crisis. And that someone, somewhere either went unpunished, was not brought up well, or has issues. Or all of that. Shame on whoever is responsible for this. Disgraceful.
Opinions , opinions .
ReplyDeleteYou think that ad is in poor taste , but I suppose most urban youth would think that's a nice take on the "dirty mind" jokes .....the ones where you ask a question that suggests sex or sexuality and then reveal a much simpler non-sexual answer .
There was a Brittania ad on TV for a while . It depicts a school bully grabbing a pack of biscuits from a girl . The girl then retaliates with a punch and a knee in the groin . That was much more objectionable : it tries to preach that kicking a male in the groin is acceptable and ( and by many Hoolywood/Bollywood movies , encouraged ) . And this is depicting young kids . But of course they only want to ban video games .
I guess I may the only man who thinks that men too deserve enough respect not to have their genitals harmed for the slightest excuse ( well no one does that to women , no one even speaks of doing it , and should anyone even mention doing that to a female , he'll be shamed , ridiculed and labelled as one who disrepects women , but never women who do so to men : now that's respect ), but somehow no one else seems to care what I find offensive . Obviously , the creator of the ad didn't care if you were . Enjoy .
