Book review: On Mexican Time

On Mexican Time by Tom CohanTom Cohan’s On Mexican Time was a impulse purchase on the wife’s part at Stand’s annual sale. It’s a sort of pilgrimage for us… The book is about a successful arty couple from LA, who slowly let go of big city life for a slower, more relaxed style of life. Yes, in Mexico. Cohan’s writing is simple, but deeply felt and that’s what makes the book great. People like the wife, who read very quickly, will enjoy the entire novel. Me, I read slowly, so I began to lose steam about forty pages from the end. But in hindsight, it’s still a great read.

the way you refer to your wife as 'the wife' reminds me of the way busybee used to write. you a fan by any chance?

No, actually, I haven't read a single one of busybee's work. However, 'the wife' is almost the standard format for a british bike magazine to refer to the missus (which is another template for 'the wife') That's all. Besides I just rather like the way 'the wife' adds stature, authority and mystery to my better half. Er... hope she doesn't see this comment. As it is she hates being referring to as the wife.
