Domain name help
Calling out to the IT savvy among you. I purchased motorcyclist.in via registry.sify.in. However, I am unable to redirect it to the blog... how to do?

First of all, thanks to everyone who wrote in to help, either via email or in the comments. Here's the problem. Sify correctly redirects to rearset.blogspot.com, so part one is working. If I now follow the blogger/publishing route, the whole thing gets locked in an infinite loop. Blogger simply redirects traffic to motorcyclist.in, while that domain is set up to redirect to rearset.blogspot... Gr...
What I want simply is this.
This post, for instance, is located at
http://rearset.blogspot.com/2008/03/domain-name-help.html
I need that to change to this
http://www.motorcyclist.in/2008/03/domain-name-help.html
So, now, more help, please!

login to your blogspot account > customize > settings > publishing > custom domain > switch to advance settings.
i guess there is an option in blogger ... Publishing... Switch to custom Domain... (Already registered a domain)... then try the setup instructions, and put in the registered address...

Not much of a geek, but I think there will be something like an NS1 and NS2 address that you have to give the domain manager. Logically, the NS1 and NS2 should be the ips of the blog. Not sure though. Give it a try

Disclaimer: I had purchased my domain name using the option provided by blogger itself.
Since you already have a domain name, I am not sure but the following should be the procedure for you..
P.S: [It would be wise to be sure though]
#1 Go to you Blog Settings.
#2 Select "Publishing" tab
#3 Click on Switch to "Custom Domain"
#4 Click on "Switch to Advanced Settings"
#5 Enter your domain Name in the Blank Space given
#6 Save Settings
Googled a couple of links that I thought might help. But I guess you don't need it now.
In my case, there was a substantial drop in Blog Taffic (and consequently earnings) for around two months following the switch to custom domain.
But do not get bogged down, after some time it comes back.
Hmm. I am wondering how you are redirecting traffic from domain to blogger. I would put a simple meta http redirect in an index for that. Will put that in an exact commment asap as i dig my earlier code for that. the only thing you need for that is space to keep a less than 4 KB text file which will be the index of your site redirecting to blogger. Once done I dont understand why you even want to redirect blogger to domain. whenver somebody types motrcyclist.in on the address bar the address would be fetched from blogger and automatically changed to that.
