Slap tickle

Today I did it. For the first time in 32 years, I hit another human. It wasn't in the heat of the moment. It was not a 'crime' of passion. I wasn't carried away. It was premeditated. Before this person walked into my house, I knew I was going to hit him. I was just waiting for the right moment. And it arrived.

He said the one thing he should not have. That was the straw. I can remember the whole thing in slow motion. I straightened up, spread my palm out, pulled the arm back and swung out. I hit square on his left cheek, flat hand making solid, hard contact, sending a shudder through my arm. And it felt good. So good that I almost hit him again. The surprised, pained and cowed look in his eyes was my reward. I loved it. It sent a raw spark of happy energy went right through me.

I loved it. It was wrong, I lost control, I should not have. But I don't regret it one bit. I wouldn't do it again, but I'm glad I did.

Dooooooood! The P220 has been launched in Pune "again" it seems! Another limited launch.. And the R&D guys saying that the bike will be launched in other parts of India only by June.. Now..There is a line toed out by nature limiting the level of patience a normal human being can have. My tolerance is dwindling.. That second hand Suzuki Swift is as tempting as the second hand Comet.. One's a car which can never give me the "kick" that a bike can, and the other bike will definitely leave me running all over the country for spares.. Somehow..that seems less painful than the wait for THE bike.. God Save Us All!

to Bajaj: Greedy money making Corporation, there is a limit to what you call "doing" business. Selling bikes more than anything else is about selling accessories for the body that allows you to control your emotions, actions and life. And you're f**k*n every emotion, action of mine, and yeah the one sweet life I'm living. Period.

Hell!! Well..is he the one who stole your bike's bits and pieces :D

This is your blog, so sure, you have the prerogative to post whatever you like.

But, this sort of changes the average reader's perception of you and adds a lot of negativity. You would do well to take this post off...

One of those forgettable moments in your life. He/She must have pissed you past your calm.
Now leave it aside, we are waiting for your review on new Honda Uni.

To all those who worried about my sanity. Thanks. I've recovered fully. And gone all the way to other way that word is spelt: Sainty.

Sudi:
Yes, it was the carpenter

Slayer:
You're echoing my thoughts friend. Just yesterday I was telling someone exactly this. Showing a desirable product in Jan'06 and leaving everyone hanging (that too in agony by saying just around the corner and postponing over and over again) till (now) June'06 is a bit hard to swallow. But beggars aren't choosers, eh?

Bragging:
I ain't bragging. I'm tellin' it like it is.

Would to well to remove this post:
Thanks for your concern. But I can't change who I am. I also can't control what you read into the post. The first line says 'first time in 32 years...' that should tell you something...

Takes away from your usually excellent reading...

This post sounds makes you sound immature and foolish, besides providing no clue about why this occurred?

rearset said...

Thank you for the compliment.

Yes, I know, it probably does make me look immature and foolish. But I'd like to presume that the rest of blog more than outweighs that impression...

Why did it happen?
As you would have read in the comments, it was my carpenter. Basically, he's been messing up The Wife and my dream house. Over and over and over for the past five months... Eventually, he broke my calm.

i like this post, rearset, cos it shows your humanity, with all its frailty and faults and realism - you are not a bike-riding machine. no doubt even Signor V Rossi has felt anger, hatred, jealousy, pain or bitterness.
hiding what you feel from a personal blog defies the reason the blog exists. we all in our self-conscious fears put on personas, which is why we admire those that are brave enough to strip them away.
keep writing from the heart, mate.

will you come hit my carpenter too, please? hes driving me up the wall for last several months too.

I've come to think of hitting carpenters as a DIY project. Its not much of an end-result thing, really. But it's very therapeutic. Guaranteed to lower blood pressure and stress levels.
