Bajaj Avenger 200: Pics out!

Check out this link. The pics are of a black Bajaj Avenger 200 DTSi, which is due to go on sale soon. As you can see, it visually looks similar, but with an oil-cooler for'ard of the chassis downtubes, a fuel guage in the chrome console on the tank. Performance should be interesting given than the Pulsar 200 is such a nice, chilled out bike to ride.

Note to moochers:
This is how it is done. I posted the info I know, with a clear link to the poor sod who actually took those pics.

Note to mystified, innocent readers:
Yes, I'm still quite p****d off.

Dude, you're fighting a battle you can't win. First of all, your flickr link doesn't work (always check links before posting them)

And second, look at it this way. When you post a link to somebody else's site, you are also driving traffic to them. Sure, you've "mooched" some content from them but in return you are giving 'em traffic. Fair trade I'd say, because some of those people will also go to other links / stories on that other site, and also click some ads on that other site. So by sending them traffic, you are possibly sending them ad revenue, hence compensating for "mooching" their content.

This is how things are going to be in the new order. If you can't beat 'em rearset, join 'em

Cheerio!

you r just being stoopid rearset. take whatever pics you can get and post the damn things on your site. in return you can post a link back to the person whose site you've taken the pics from. your flickr link is not working anyway

Thanks for pointing the link thing out. Fixed it. Somehow, the link had become http://http:// and so was creating trouble... and thanks for you support and advice. Really mean it.

Putting a link directing traffic to the Original content is fair enough and should suffice.

The only probllem that might arise is that in the future if the pictures/content are remove from that site or if the link doesn't work (like the most recent experience stated above), this little post of yours becomes useless too..

Therefore in my opinion its ok if you "mooch" one or two pictures and give the original source its credit by posting its link.

"mooching" pics and text is the norm with the internet, u can't get away from it. of course, only the truly shameless use the text without even rewriting it. but even those who do "research" on 10 differnt websites and then "write" their own articles are in a way "mooching" content.

personally, i don't see see a short term solution. best thing is to go with the flow, take what you want, credit pics to the original source, rewrite text, provide links to the original source, sit back and pray for the best.

of course, even you have to be mooching pics from somehere. you regularly have pics of indian bikes which look like stock shots provided by manufacturers. would bajaj and hero honda give stock shots for your blog? i don't think so. which means you're stealing pics which were given to you (or to someone whom you know), to be used elsewhere.

so stop sermonising, stop being holier than thou and get on with it.

you do write well, by the way, and i keep coming back to your blog every single day. just stop the rah-rah jingoism, the look-i-do-no-wrong bullshit and that'll do very well.

Just wanted to tell you that while I like your blog, the content seems to be overwhelmed by the advertisements at times. You have around 8 - 9 ad units on your homepage, which is a bit much I think.

So now I've started browsing your blog using Firefox with the AdBlock plug in. Viola! No more ads! Not a single ad is visible anymore! Have started recommending this Firefox-AdBlock combo to all my friends.
